My is mom funny... I love her weird little sayings she throws at me. Not to long ago while having a conversion with her on the phone she throws out "Wendy, you know you have to smell the dust before you smell the roses". That was her statement to me while telling her that I have been super stressed with work, and with the wedding planning and friends that just don't understand. Hrmmm yea I think I know where she was going with that one.
Basically you have to get through the hard stuff before it gets better.
Today's saying tops the cake though. Having the same kind of conversation with her about stress and things, mind you I am a little less stressed out then a few weeks ago she tells me that I tend to "start a storm in a glass of water".
Not really sure where she is going with that one. Of course when I ask her what on earth she means by that, she just laughs at me and says "oh come on you have never heard this before?"
NO I haven't so if someone could please tell me what on earth she's saying or where she might have heard this crazy saying before that would be awesome!
I can only assume its some old Portuguese thing? LOL
I am sure there will be plenty more of Nely's weird and funny sayings to come :) Keep you all posted.
PS yes i know what she really is trying to say. I was just throwing it out there that its not a normal way to say it. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mother is mighty wise....mine usually says to me "You're climbing a mountain here!" which means I am getting upset over nothing...lol.I think she makes them up.
ReplyDeletehahahaha yea if my mom said that to me i would tell her "well i better get in my hiking boots because i am going to need them!"
